Pardon Us: Our Website Surely Look A Bit Funny

By abaragus On July 14, 2010 No Comments

Hi all,

This website is experiencing a tiny (it was a major one previously) problem with it’s “page” attributes. It is actually caused by some technical error either from the WP platform or our webhoster side.

So,where is the problem?

Can you this site’s pages: “Home”, “About”, “Contact”, “Packages”, “De Mid Borneo” above?

That “De Mid Borneo” is actually a mistake and efforts to make changes has came a dead end, halted, stopped when the “Update” button, in the article posting area suddenly vanished, gone, disappeared to… we don’t where. We are hoping that that much-needed-button will show up again somehow by tomorrow…

If you think the webmaster is NOT doing his/her job correctly then please hold it for now.

So please forgive us – Team DeMidBorneo – for the funny looking site.

We’ll make up for some lost times…

Bintulu Port: AWAC Sensor Installation Job

By abaragus On April 8, 2010 No Comments

From the Diving Division of De Mid Borneo Sdn Bhd…

We have been recently reassigned, as an appointed contractor by Tulus Semai Sdn Bhd (Bintulu), Sarawak, to reinstall the AWAC Sensor that belongs to Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd (BPSB).

AWAC sensor, battery and cable installation job required a team of divers, supplied by De Mid Borneo Sdn Bhd, to fix the sensor onto a custom-made steel bar at a depth of 8 meters within the Bintulu Port vicinity – restricted area. Once installed, this sensor will be able to collect data of currents and wave movement around Bintulu area – purposes known only to BPSB. The gathering of data is accomplish through the use of a high-tech customize-software, program and applications. That is all that we can say about the AWAC system: please contact BPSB or Tulus Semai Sdn Bhd for further details on the AWAC Sensor.

We were lucky this time because the weather was perfect – calm sea and improved underwater visibility. The divers took a total bottom time of 126 minutes to complete the underwater installation. All together we needed only around 2 hours to get the sensor up and running as the top side team took around 30 minutes to satisfactory connect and calibrate the system.

To gain access to the restricted area, a special permit must be obtained prior to departure. At least one BPSB’s personnel will be onsite to accompany and monitor that everything is being done according to the job specs and regulations.

DMB’s divers had prearranged all their diving equipments ahead of time including scuba tanks, which were outsourced in Bintulu – it would be very costly to transport scuba tanks all the way from Kota Kinabalu. The divers planning must be done well ahead of time too. Every details must be re-checked to avoid delays for the AWAC sensor installation job.

Well, again, this time was a success for the involved parties – and the divers too. A job well done!

Now that the job is completed and operational we can be rest assured that we can now go home wearing a big smile on our faces – knowing that everything should be up and running as planned.

Adios & thank you Bintulu.

P/S: This article was written and posted while the divers were just about to leave for Kota Kinabalu, Sabah – where De Mid Borneo Sdn Bhd’s main office  is located.
