Missing “Update” or “Publish” Buttons: WordPress 3.0

If you are the administrator of blog sites and you are using WordPress (WP) as your blog platform and had recently upgraded to WP Version 3.0 – just like us – than you might have encountered these: Missing “Update” or “Publish” or “Save” buttons.

Bloggers experience this missing-buttons issues right after upgrading to the new version of WordPress 3.0 which created a “havoc” on the world wide web – well for some. We, at De Mid Borneo, did have some sleepless nights for a while…

Whether you are adding new posts or adding new page and if that most-important-button is missing than here is the layman term on how to fix this problem:

• Click the “Screen Options” on the right hand side: a whole range of menu appears
• In the “Number of Columns”: click the “2″ (many opt to use 1 column for wider view)
• Some will have the right columns filled with all the “necessary elements” BUT some without. Without means missing. Missing means problem – a problem need to be addressed quickly. OK, read on…
• Fix it how? : scroll down slowly and you’ll see the “publish” box:- DRAG & DROP that box manually to the 2nd column on the right and whalaaa… there you have it. The missing “Publish” and “Update” buttons actually has been sitting there… all along.

Note: Some people can get the missing buttons issues fix by simply changing the screen layout to “2″ BUT some face even a more scarier blank right hand column SO try the methods explained above.

With that fixed, you are now back to normal – alive and kicking again on the virtual world. And the reason this article was published: we had the same problem and did some forum searched and we were amazed by the number of people having the same problem.
